"Should we spend American dollars or Jamaican dollars?"

US and Jamican dollars are both official currencies in Jamaica. You can use either but we recommend that you bring $US travellers checks and cash them at the banks or Cambios (money exchanges) located on the beach road and the West End road.

"How difficult is it to cash travellers checks?"

It`s very easy to cash your travellers checks. Just remember to carry your passport or photo ID when you go to the bank or money exchange

"Do you offer travel insurance?"

Yes we do....just click on the "Insurance" button on the main menu. All types of insurance are offered including trip cancellation, health, etc. through the Travel Insurance Center

"What is the situation with mosquitos and sand fleas?"

Mosquitos in Jamaica are of the "no seeum" variety. They are very small and can be a bit of a nuisance at dusk. When you go out at night be sure to spray your feet and ankles (especially) with bug spray containing a good quantity of DEET. Also, stay off the beach at dusk if possible as there are sand fleas that come out of the sand at that time only and can inflict some nasty bites.

"Do you make airline reservations?"

We don't make the reservations for you but we now offer great rates in our "Discount Air" section.
We work with CVOA (The Caribbean Villa Owners Association) who are able to offer Onestop clients discount airfares to Jamaica. You can call them toll free at 1-877-248-2862 and ask for the best rate. Be sure to tell them you're booking your accommodations through "Onestop".
We have found that it's usually less expensive to book your flight and accommodation separately (instead of a "package") - check and see for yourself.

"Does it cost more to book through you?"

No it doesn't. We charge the same rate (or less) as the resorts and throughout the year we may offer special rates for "Onestop" clients.
Returning clients of "Onestop" also receive a discount if they book 7 nights or more.

"What advantage is there in booking through you?"

There are many advantages in booking through "Onestop".
  • We are extremely familiar with Negril and the resorts we represent and will give you truthful, unbiased answers to your questions and concerns.
  • We can be reached at almost any time of day, seven days a week at our toll-free number 1-877-651-7867
  • When you book through us we will arrange airport transfers from Montego Bay airport to Negril and back.
  • We offer our clients the "Onestop Discount Card" free for use at many businesses and restaurants in Negril.

"When I book through you do I receive a confirmation?"

Once you have made your booking and we have received your deposit or payment you will be sent an official confirmation by email (unless instructed otherwise) including your information, your resort, dates, description of your accommodations and the rate you paid.
Hotel and transfer vouchers are issued with full or final payments.

"Are you a registered business?"

We've only been asked this a couple of times but "yes" we are fully registered and contracted to the resorts we represent. We have been in business on the internet since 1998 and we are fully endorsed by the Jamaican Tourist Board.

"Is Negril safe?"

This is a question we often get asked as a result of "scare" tactics by illadvised travel agents. Negril is a perfectly safe place to visit and we encourage you to walk the length of Negril's open beach or stroll along the West End Road. We do, however, suggest you to not walk alone at night and use the same precautions you would if you were at home.

"Can you give us information about resorts you don't represent?"

We do have a good working knowledge of Negril and most of the resorts although we are most familiar with our own. If you do require some assistance with regard to bookings in Negril we will be happy to assist you the best we can.

"Is food expensive?"

Being an island, food is as expensive if not more expensive than back home. Buying food to cook is best done at the local markets.

"When is hurricane season?"

Hurricane season starts at the end of August 'til about the middle of October.

"Is the seven mile beach closed or open to everyone?"

Except for the far end of the beach the rest of the seven miles is fully open to anyone who wishes to walk there. Most of the resorts in Negril welcome visitors to drop in for a meal, drink or swim.

"What sights are there to see near Negril or around Jamaica?"

We have a large section devoted to all the interesting places to visit and sites to see. Points of interest include: Black River Safari, Bamboo Avenue, Catamaran Tours, and Y.S. Falls. We have taken our own pictures of some of the different attractions, and have provided you with a map indicating where they are located. Just click HERE.

"Are ATM`s available in Negril?"

There is an ATM at the ScotiaBank and the supermarket in town and the "HiLo" supermarket at the beginning of the West End Road but we do not recommend that you rely on this as they can be temporarily out of service. Bring cash or travellers checks (recommended)
