TICO makes sure your registered booking agent follows strict consumer protection laws, backed by the Travel Industry Act.
TICO makes sure they are following these laws by:

TICO also promotes fair and ethical competition, supports a code of ethics, and encourages legislative and regulatory changes.

Refunds

For services you pay for, but don't receive, due to closure or bankruptcy, you may be compensated for up to $5000/person.

Complaints

TICO will assist you in filing a complaint, communicate with the registered booking agent, and make sure consumer protection laws were properly followed.
